Welcome to South San Joaquin County Fire Authority's Vegetation and Fire Hazard Abatement Program!
Our Community Risk Reduction (CRR) program is designed to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildland fires by increasing public fire safety awareness and promoting voluntary compliance with laws and regulations with regard to vegetation maintenance and the accumulation of combustible debris.
This program is designed to protect you, your family and your local community from potential fire hazards created by brush overgrowth, excessive plant debris, and other combustible vegetation. Our primary goal is to reduce the risk of wildland fires, and ensure that your community is safe and prepared.
In order to achieve this goal, our program is divided into two main components: the prevention of vegetative growth, and the removal of combustible debris. Our prevention efforts involve a public education campaign, and the implementation of laws and regulations that promote vegetation management in areas prone to wildland fires. We also offer support services to homeowners and landowners, including tips and resources for maintaining the vegetation on their properties.
Additionally, the accumulation of combustible debris, such as dry brush, yard trimmings, and wood piles, can create dangerous situations during a wildland fire. To address this, please click on the link to report an area of with fire hazards.
